Top 10 medical tourism companies in India (2026): how to choose the right one

A practical guide to ten medical tourism companies that help international patients get treatment in India, what each one offers, and the checklist we suggest before you choose.

An African family and an Indian patient coordinator planning treatment in India on a phone, with a modern hospital in the background

Every year, thousands of families from Africa, the Middle East and beyond travel to India for heart surgery, cancer care, transplants and joint replacements. Most of them are first helped by a medical tourism company: a facilitator that sends your reports to hospitals, brings back the doctor’s opinion and a written estimate, and helps with the visa, travel and stay.

Choosing that company is one of the most important decisions you will make, because it shapes which hospital you see, what you pay and how supported you feel when you land in a new country. This guide lists ten companies that help international patients, explains what each says it offers, and gives you a simple checklist to compare them.

What a medical tourism company actually does

A facilitator does not treat you. Hospitals and doctors do. A good facilitator:

  • Shares your reports with suitable hospitals and specialists, and brings back a medical opinion.
  • Gets a written estimate from the hospital, so you can plan your budget before you travel.
  • Helps with the medical visa, including the hospital’s invitation letter. India offers an e-Medical visa for many nationalities through its official e-Visa portal.
  • Arranges travel and accommodation near the hospital, and meets you at the airport.
  • Coordinates your admission, keeps your family informed and helps with follow-up after you return home.

The best ones are honest when treatment in India is not the right choice, and they never pressure you to decide quickly.

How we chose these ten companies

We looked for companies that are based in India or run their India service from an Indian office, that focus on international patients, and that clearly describe their services on their own website. For each one we only used what the company itself says, checked in October 2026. We have not rated or scored the other companies, and we do not claim to know their patient outcomes.

1. Healway Global

  • Based in: Gurugram, Haryana, close to its partner hospitals (a private limited company registered in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, incorporated 18 December 2024)
  • Partner hospitals: Medanta – The Medicity (Gurugram), Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket (New Delhi) and Artemis Hospital (Gurugram). On request, BLK-Max, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Narayana Superspeciality Hospital Gurugram and Moolchand Hospital.
  • Languages: English, French and Arabic

Healway Global is a medical travel company built for families from Nigeria, DR Congo, Chad, Rwanda and other countries who want treatment at India’s leading hospitals without the confusion. Its leadership brings more than 15 years of experience in international patient care.

What makes Healway different:

  • Only JCI and NABH accredited hospitals. Every hospital Healway works with holds both accreditations. You can see each one, with its doctors, on the hospitals page.
  • WhatsApp first, no forms. You send one message and a real person replies, in English, French or Arabic.
  • Written estimates before you travel. You see the hospital’s own estimate in writing, and you pay the hospital directly. Healway explains openly how it is paid.
  • Leading specialists you can look up. Healway lists senior doctors with their profiles from the hospitals’ official pages, so you know who you are being referred to.
  • Video consultation first. Where the hospital offers it, Healway arranges a video consultation with the specialist before you decide to travel.
  • Airport to airport. Visa documents, flights, accommodation near the hospital, admission and follow-up, coordinated by one team.

Your checklist before choosing a company

Whichever company you choose, ask these questions. A good facilitator will answer all of them clearly and in writing.

  1. Is the company legally registered? Ask for its company registration details. Healway Global is a private limited company registered in India, and you can see its company details.
  2. Which hospitals will see my case, and are they JCI and NABH accredited? You can check JCI status yourself on the Joint Commission International public register.
  3. Will I get the hospital’s own written estimate before I travel?
  4. Do I pay the hospital directly? Be careful with anyone who asks you to send treatment money to a personal account.
  5. How is the company paid? A clear answer is a good sign.
  6. Can I speak to the doctor before travelling? A video consultation helps you decide with confidence.
  7. Will someone help me in my language? For many families from DR Congo, Chad or Rwanda, French support makes a real difference.
  8. What happens after I go home? Ask how follow-up with the hospital works.

Medical decisions are made by you and your treating doctors. A facilitator should never promise a cure or guarantee an outcome.

How Healway Global can help you

Questions about this topic

Do I need a medical tourism company to get treatment in India?

No. You can contact a hospital's international patient desk directly. A good facilitator saves time by sharing your reports with suitable hospitals, getting written estimates, helping with the medical visa and travel, and staying with you during treatment.

How are medical tourism companies in India paid?

Many, including Healway Global, are paid a commission by the hospital, so the service is free to the patient. Ask any company to explain in writing how it is paid, and make sure you pay the hospital directly for treatment.

Which hospitals should a medical tourism company work with?

Look for hospitals that hold JCI (Joint Commission International) and NABH accreditation. Healway Global works only with hospitals that hold both.

Can I speak to the doctor before I travel to India?

Often, yes. Where the hospital offers it, a facilitator can arrange a video consultation so you can discuss your reports with the specialist before you decide to travel.
